Colby Community College is accepting applications for a part-time Head Livestock Judging Coach. The successful candidate will be tasked with recruiting, coaching, and mentoring agriculture students to develop and promote the livestock judging program. This is a part-time, non-faculty, non-instructional position. Evening and weekend work/travel are required for practice and contests, both in-state and out-of-state.
Essential Duties:

- Excellent communication skills, with strong knowledge and experience in livestock evaluation.
- The ability to motivate, inspire, and mentor Livestock Judging Team Members to be competitive on a national level.
- Management of team members to ensure success in the classroom and judging arena must be cultivated.
- The development of community service projects and youth livestock judging camps should be implemented.
- Recruitment of students from throughout the U.S. for the livestock judging program and CCC educational programs will be a priority.
- The successful candidate must be willing to travel in-state and out-of-state (Missouri, Kentucky, Colorado, Texas) and spend time coaching students to develop skills necessary for a strong and competitive program.
Additionally, the selected candidate will be expected to provide supplementary assistance at the Colby Community College farm.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required in a related field of Agriculture, preferably in the field of Animal Science.
- Previous Livestock Judging Experience required, with some previous coaching experience preferred.

Colby Community College is located in northwest Kansas, approximately 50 miles from the Nebraska and Colorado borders. From a humble beginning of 99 students in 1964, CCC now serves more than 2,400 students annually.
In addition to a 57-acre main campus, a 60-acre farm is used as a hands-on laboratory and training facility. The College also accommodates hundreds of off-campus students through face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses.
