Colby Community College (CCC) invites applications for a full-time Library Associate to assist in the daily operations of the College Library by maintaining an organized, accessible, and student-centered learning environment.
Salary Range
The compensation package for this full-time, hourly position will be $19.50 per hour.
The selected candidate will also be eligible to participate in the College's health, dental, and vision plan, as well as the State of Kansas KPERS retirement system. This position is also eligible for relocation/moving expenses up to $2,000.
Qualifications
- 0 - 6 months experience working in a high customer contact environment while providing excellent customer service.
- Associate degree is required.

- Assist in the daily management of library services, including circulation, reference, and resources access.
- Provide frontline customer service by greeting patrons, answering questions, and supporting research and information needs.
- Check materials in and out, issue library cards, and maintain accurate records of library usage.
- Shelve, organize, and maintain books, periodicals, and media collections.
- Support interlibrary loan requests, catalog maintenance, and database access under librarian supervision.
- Maintain an orderly, clean, and welcoming environment conducive to student and research.
- Assist students with locating, evaluating, and using print and digital resources effectively.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support in information literacy, research strategies, and technology use.
- Collaborate with faculty and the tutoring program to connect students to appropriate academic support services.
- Maintain security and confidentiality of testing materials and student records.
- Assist with updating and maintaining library software systems, online databases, and resources links.

Colby Community College is located in northwest Kansas, approximately 50 miles from the Nebraska and Colorado borders. From a humble beginning of 99 students in 1964, CCC now serves more than 2,400 students annually.
In addition to a 57-acre main campus, a 60-acre farm is used as a hands-on laboratory and training facility. The College also accommodates hundreds of off-campus students through face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses.
