Colby Community College (CCC) invites applications for a part-time Assistant Coach – Livestock Judging to assist in the coaching, administration, and promotion of the livestock judging team.
Salary Range
The compensation package for this part-time, exempt position will be $20,690 per year.
This position includes a meal plan at Colby Community College’s Trojan’s Café.
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree Preferred
- Experience in working with students in a coaching or other leadership capacity is highly prefererd.
- Student athlete experience at the collegiate level in livestock judging is preferred.

- Assists in Head Coach in all aspects of the livestock judging program, including training, travel, and competition schedules.
- Provide hands-on instruction and guidance in livestock evaluation, oral reasons, and industry standards.
- Develop student skills in animal science, communication, and critical thinking.
- Foster a competitive, professional, and educational team environment.
- Ensure compliance with institutional and competition regulations.
- Assists in the recruitment of high-quality student-judges through outreach to high schools, FFA programs, and industry events.
- Assists in promoting the livestock judging program through visits, contests, and College events.
- Work with Admissions and Student Affairs to support student enrollment and housing placement.
- Monitor academic performance and support student success and retention within the program.
- Collaborate with faculty to connect students to transfer or career opportunities.

Colby Community College is located in northwest Kansas, approximately 50 miles from the Nebraska and Colorado borders. From a humble beginning of 99 students in 1964, CCC now serves more than 2,400 students annually.
In addition to a 57-acre main campus, a 60-acre farm is used as a hands-on laboratory and training facility. The College also accommodates hundreds of off-campus students through face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses.
